And The Process Begins...

As I like to say, often... The kind of painting that I do is 90% prep work and 10% fun. It's taken a little over a week longer than I had anticipated to get the studio area, paint mixing,  and wood canvas prepped and ready to go.  But the day has finally arrived, where I get to start laying down some paint! It is crucial,  with a base of this size and structure, that each layer completely cover and envelope all exposed surfaces (top AND sides) in a smooth uninterrupted flow. What you are seeing here is layer one. I am predicting that this particular work will end up taking 3 to 5 layers before its complete.... I'm definitely going to need more paint! Lol. I'll get the next layer up, as soon as this layer has had a day or two to cure.
